How Chord Length is Calculated

The chord length between two points on a circle is given by:

Chord = 2 × R × sin(θ / 2)

Where R is the radius (PCD/2) and θ is the central angle in degrees.

If you provide the number of holes, the angle is automatically calculated as 360° / holes.

Example:

For a PCD of 200 mm with 8 holes:

  • Angle between holes = 360 / 8 = 45°
  • Radius = 100 mm
  • Chord = 2 × 100 × sin(45°/2) = 200 × sin(22.5°) ≈ 76.54 mm
